Social Status of women has been unsteady and pendulous, throughout the different periods in Iranian history. The prohibition of women
singing in public after 1979 revolution is a recent and
elucidative example which prevents them from singing
even in religious rituals such as Ta’zïye.

Bushehr port, having a history of around
5000 years, is the only exception as local women strive to
preserve their old traditions of singing.The movie, takes us to the old and almost untouched traditions of Boushehris and follows the women for
whom singing is a really important part of life. They talk
about their life, their enthusiasm for singing and why they
are determined to be involved in their religious rites the
way they always have been.
