Amir Masoud Soheili is an internationally awarded short filmmaker who has participated to hundreds of festivals around the world as a director and also jury. He has been one of the seven most honored Iranian short filmmakers in 2015.

Masoud Soheili was born in 1988 in Mashhad, Iran. He got a BA degree in Law from Ferdowsi University. He studied cinema at Seni institute in Yogyakarta, Indonesia during 1 year. He also attended the Asian Film Academy courses in Busan, South Korea.

He has been working for more than ten years in the film industry as an Assistant Director. He has proven his talent for writing scripts. “This is the deed Mr. Doctor!” (Short film, 2010) ,”Pari” (Short film, 2015) and “Loved her like a sister” (short film, 2016) are some of his scripts that has been directed by other filmmakers. His script “Zero boundary” won a “Honorable Mention” at Moviepoet Contest in March 2012. His other script “Never with violence” has been awarded at the International Open Film Festival in Bangladesh and Tasnim film festival in Iran.

He also was curating films for Vidsee.com for 2 years.

“He made his first short film “the car blow the horn just for the women” in 2012 that has been officially selected and awarded in some national and international festivals.

His second short film “Blue eyed boy” (2014) officially selected in more than 130 international film festivals has won 18 international awards including “Student Award” at Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival in Indonesia, “Honorable Mention” at AVANCA International Film Festival in Portugal, “Best International Narrative Short” at Garden State International Film Festival in USA, “Honorable Mention” at Trenton Film Festival in USA, “Best Director” at the International Festival ENTR’2 MARCHES in Cannes, France and “Jury Award” at Mediterranean Film Festival in Italy.

His last film “Heaven of children” selected in more than 10 international film festivals has won the “Special Mention” at Inaugural ReelOzind! Short Film Festival happening in Australia and Indonesia.

He was member of the juries of the 10th Yogya Netpac Asian Film Festival (2015) ,Viddsee Juree awards competition, Borneo film festival in Indonesia (2016) , CreActive International Open Film Festival (IOFF) in Bangladesh (2016) and Avanca international film festival in Portugal (2016).

He has also worked as a director of Inaugural “Safe Community” International Film Festival in Mashhad, Iran (2017).”
