Anne Démy-Geroe is a film curator and scholar specializing in Asian cinema. She is a lecturer on Asia Pacific Cinema at Griffith Film School and co-Director of the Iranian Film Festival Australia. She is a pioneer member of the Nominations Council for the Asia Pacific Screen Awards and Vice President of NETPAC, the Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema. Anne was the pioneer Director of the Brisbane International Film Festival from 1991 to 2010. She has curated many regional festivals and international retrospectives. She has served on many film juries from Hawaii to Beirut. She served as a judge on the Queensland Premier’s Literary Awards (Screen Scriptwriting) from 2001 to 2010, and chaired the APSA Children’s Film Fund Panel for several years. She was awarded an Australian Centenary Medal for services to the film industry in 2003. She also holds PhD in the Iranian cinema.
