Hassnain holds a Master degree in Political Studies from Quid-e-Azam University. He has worked as sub-editor, reporter and contributor with print and electronic media in Pakistan. He has been associated with The Nation, Dawn, Centre for Civic Education, GIZ, National College of Arts, Lok Sujag, Inter-University Consortium on the Promotion of Social Sciences and Punjab Higher Education Commission. He is a keen reader of literature, art, politics and culture.

He has participated in an advanced journalism training program on Religious Minorities in Pakistan organized by the Search for Common Grounds held in Nepal. He also participated in the ‘Third Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction’ organized by the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) in Geneva, Switzerland.

At Katchi Talkie Hassnain heads research and concept development providing backgrounders, concept notes, ideas and keeping team updated on latest programmatic developments in media sector. He also throws ideas for discussion facilitating creative content development within team.
