Born in 1979, Sheila Zago is a curator and educator who holds a Master Degree in Museum and Gallery Practice by UCL (University College London - UK). Her BA is in Social Communication by UCS (University of Caxias do Sul - Brazil) and she has previously worked for 10 years as an Art Director and Cinema and Television Producer in Brazil, along with a large experience in multinational audiovisual collaborations. Among the international clients and partners, are names such as BBC, Netflix, Sony Entertainment Television, MGM, Artè and dozens of others from North America to Australia.

Sheila has also founded and coordinated a cinema club and an art movie theater in Brazil over a decade and she has signed as the international producer for São Paulo International Film Festival for 2 consecutive years, one of the biggest cinema festivals of the Americas with up to 500 titles screened in one single edition.

Since 2008, Sheila runs Conexus Project, a collective and nomadic contemporary art project that travels around the world developing partnerships and working in collaboration with artists and organizations. Inside Conexus she develops concepts and ideas for art exhibitions and educational programs, individually or in partnership with international curators and art spaces.

She has also collaborated with art festivals and museums in different countries, such as the Brooklyn Children’s Museum (New York, United States of America), Liverpool Biennial (Liverpool, United Kingdom), APlusA Gallery (Venice, Italy), Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum (Doha, Qatar) and Kochi-Muziris Biennale (Kochi, India). Since 2016 Conexus has been working specially with art and educational projects developed for Palestinian and Syrian refugees in the Middle East. Its main projects in the past years were held in the United Arab Emirates, India, Italy, Lebanon and Syria.

Sheila Zago is currently researching and working on the development of an art exhibition inside Asia Peace Film Festival, under the same theme and inspirational subjects.
